A Change in Season
Another change in season is upon us—upon me.
As I reflect on life, I wonder what names I would come up with for all the seasons I have weathered.
This season feels different somehow. I’m sure some of it has to do with age and the wisdom I’ve gained over the years.
But this time, it feels peaceful, intentional, even exciting.
I can’t completely explain it. Especially the peacefulness.
Maybe this season feels different because of the one I’m coming out of.
The last several years have asked a lot of me. There have been endings, uncertainty, starting over, and plenty of moments when I didn’t know what was next.
But somewhere along the way, something shifted.
I stopped feeling like I had to have it all figured out.
I’m creating a new life—a new season.
There is still so much uncertainty. Yet my heart feels drawn in a direction that feels right, even though I’m not exactly sure what that direction looks like.
I have an idea… and I’m open to how I’m meant to get there.
I’m letting go, as much as I can, and allowing this new life to unfold before me. I’m keeping my eyes and my heart open.
And maybe because of that, I’m noticing more.
How blessed and grateful I am for what I have and for what is still ahead.
I’m slowing down enough to notice the morning sky, the colors of a sunset, the last of the wildflowers blooming—and the simple gift of being able to do the things I can do.
I don’t know exactly what this next season will bring.
But I trust in Divine Timing and Divine Order.
